Choosing the right visual display system can be a tricky business, asking yourself a few key questions will quickly hone down the right solution for you…
How will I use the display?
Does it need to be light and portable, moved from classroom to classroom? Or will it be installed in one classroom or hall?
This will help you choose between a mobile, desktop or pro installation projector, or even an interactive flat panel display.
How is my classroom set up?
Where do I need the technology to be placed in relation to where I am teaching from?
Ultra short throw and short throw projectors can be installed very close to the screen and ensure teachers do not create shadows across the image. Standard throw projectors need to be set further back in the room.
Interactive displays can be placed anywhere you have access to a plug socket and when used with a mobile trolley can be moved room to room.
How bright is the space?
Do I have control over lighting? Will I be using the technology in the day time with all the blinds open?
The brighter the room, the brighter your display solution will need to be.
If there is too much ambient light in a classroom, a projected image may become washed out. In this instance, an interactive touchscreen display may be a better option for you.

Do I need to share textbooks, maps, diagrams or 3D objects with the class?
Combined with a projector or interactive display, visualisers allow you to share items with the whole class. These portable and lightweight cameras will capture the attention of any class and can show incredible detail on objects often not visible to the human eye.
